Here’s a few pics of the madness at the Solution’s 5th Annual Lessondary Birthday Extravaganza…More are on the way…Shouts to Donwill & Von Pea aka Tanya Morgan for hosting/performing, the June birthdays in the house (Charley Cox, MC Big House & Monique), The Hai Bar/Sushi Hai for being such a gracious host (they raved about how cool the vibe was, thanks to the cool crowd) and most importantly, everybody who came out to celebrate. The craziest thing about this annual party is that even though we’re celebrating birthdays, it’s not like there’s some magically delicious cake or party games or even presents that make the party so much fun, it’s all of the great people who come to enjoy great music.  So thanks again for all the love Denver, y’all are cool as hell!!!

Video: The Solution’s 5th Annual J Dilla Tribute at Family Affair with Tanya Morgan…

In the midst of our first Colorado tour earlier this month, we made a surprise stop at Family Affair for our 5th annual J Dilla tribute.  Our friends at Red Bull and Top Shelf Vodka blessed us with complimentary drinks, Donwill and Von Pea of Tanya Morgan came through for surprise DJ sets and a few quick verses at the end of the night and a good time was had by all in the name of James Yancey.  Family Affair threw together a little video of the night and some funny Tanya Morgan footage and we thought y’all might wanna check it.  Last but not least, special shouts to Family Affair, Brittney the Square, Red Bull, Top Shelf Vodka, Tanya Morgan & everybody who came out for a great night.

Von Pea “Toss It Over” (produced by Suhburb) from DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1…

Here’s an exclusive track that Von Pea recorded for DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1, coming in early February.  Lessondary producer extraordinaire Suhburb laced a monster of a beat and Von murdered it on some fun, clubby ish (“I’m so lyrical, blah blah blah”).  If you don’t already know by now, Von Pea is a member/producer of the acclaimed rap group Tanya Morgan.  Check out his site/blog over at VonPea.com to get up to speed and make sure to check him next time he’s at the Solution, it should be soon (dude’s already been by four times…LOL).  If you’ve got a blog or web site, feel free to post up the direct link to the song and mention the upcoming mixtape, if not, please tell a friend or two about it on facebook or twitter or however.  Thanks for listening.

Flashback 6/26/09: RBMA presents Exile & DJ Day at the Solution w/DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme plus surprise guests Donwill, Von Pea & Che Grand

Last year, we were lucky enough to have insanely talented producers/DJs/MPC masters Exile & DJ Day come out to the Solution to rock their world renowned 2 MPC/2 turntable set, courtesy of the Red Bull Music Academy.  Needless to say, they didn’t disappoint.  Me and Sounds had the pleasure of setting off the party, full of cute girls and heads, so much so that DJ Day said he’d “never played at a party quite like this”.  Then Day & Ex rocked a mind-blowing set that had the crowd screaming, dancing and wondering how the hell anyone could make an MPC act like that.  It’s kind of hard to explain their brilliance in words, you really need to check out the video clips throughout this post to really get an idea of these guys’ genius.

Plus, MJ had just passed a few days earlier and they created and premiered an incredible tribute to the King Of Pop that we were the first to witness, check it below (shouts to Ralphie on the video).

And if that wasn’t enough, Donwill & Von Pea of Tanya Morgan and Che Grand were in town for my birthday party the next night and hopped on the mic for a surprise performance.  Check out clip of Che rockin over live Ex & DJ Day’s live production at the Solution below (and stay tuned for the full Che/Don/Von audio on the upcoming Solution Tape #1).  Over six hundred people came through the door that night and I imagine each and every one of them who saw Ex & Day had their mind blown.  If you end up so lucky as to ever get a chance to see these guys perform live, don’t miss it.
