Last month’s 7 events for The Solution’s seven year anniversary were ridiculously fun and we’ve got to give all the credit to you Denver! You beautiful (for the most part…LOL) people came out to all seven events in record numbers, rocking excellent taste in music with enthusiasm, great energy and lots of smiles and it was AMAZING!!! FRIDAY, 2/28 at 7pm -> UPDATE: Acclaimed Chicago producer/MC Brandun Deshay (collabs w/Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Rockie Fresh, Danny Brown, Mac Miller & more!) is gonna guest host and rock a few songs at the party!!!

We’re excited to be wrapping up a ridiculously fun month of events for #TheSolution7 in grand fashion (no pun intended…LOL) with a the first ever Solution Beat Swap & Fashion Show!!! We’ll be combining music and fashion with styles by Akomplice Clothing, Family Affair, Karma Leigh & Xencs L. Wing, records by ten top Denver diggers and both gear and vinyl from the lovely ladies at Judith & Joe Fashion & Records mobile boutique. We teamed up with the crew at Akomplice for sample sale back in December, which was a hit despite sub-zero temperatures all night, so we decided to bring back the sample sale for round 2; with a great selection of one of a kind items, rarities and more great Akomplice gear on sale at deeply discounted prices (tip: come early at 7pm for the choicest record & gear selections).

Combining music and fashion is just the start though, Moontower Tacos will be back at the Meadowlark too, bringing their uniquely delicious Austin-style tacos to the party. Solution residents DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez will be on the turntables, Knower Of The Ledge will be catching the fun on film and the night’s gonna be so much that we’re gonna start early at 7pm. Great Winter Goodness/The Solution’s 8th Annual J Dilla Celebration recap by Black Sock Productions…

The weather was better than we could have ever hoped for, the crowd was filled with a ton of regulars from the Summer and smiling faces, Moontower Tacos blessed us with great food, Judith & Joe brought the records & gear, and most importantly, me, DJ SpydaTek & DJ Lazy Eyez had an opportunity to play Dilla for 8+ hours; it was about as good as a Sunday gets.

Goodness returns (in grand fashion) on May 4th…Until then, catch The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez every Friday night at the Meadowlark!!!

FRIDAY, 2/21 -> Don’t ever act like you forgot about Dre. It’s that time of year again and The Solution’s excited to be partnering up with the national Dre Day movement (started by Mike 2600 & crew in Minneapolis) to celebrate the good Doctor Andre Young aka Dr. Dre in grand fashion at The 2nd Annual Denver Dre Day. We’ll be bringing in special guest and former St. Louis Red Bull Thre3 Style Champ DJ Mahf to join DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez in spinning all the best Dr. Dre songs, production, remixes, features, samples and so on, all night long.

The music is guaranteed to be the chronic, but we’ll also be featuring 40 oz ring toss and The $20 Sack Pyramid games on the patio, Dre videos all night long and photos by Knower Of The Ledge to add to the fun. From djlowkey.com: SUNDAY, 2/16 from 2-10pm -> Every time the weather gets over 50 degrees on a Sunday I get text messages from people saying they miss Goodness and I basically respond the same way every time, “you think you miss it, that’s my baby! LOL”.  With that said, on Sunday, 2/16/14, for one day only, we’ll be bringing Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends back for a Winter, all J Dilla edition on the Meadowlark’s incredible, newly enclosed and of course, heated patio (2701 Larimer St).  With this Winter Goodness doubling as The Solution’s 8th Annual J Dilla Celebration, I’ll be joined by Lazy Eyez & DJ Spyda T.E.K. as we dig deep in the crates to bring you an 8 hour shift of Jay Dee classics, rarities, samples, b-sides and so on.

Official Solution photographer Knower Of The Ledge will be in the building snapping flicks and we’re excited to be welcoming our friends Judith & Joe Fashion & Records mobile boutique back out to join the fun. As if that wasn’t enough, Moontower Tacos will be back in the building, serving their insanely good food. The icing on the cake though, is that me and the cooks at Moontower are creating a special Dilla Taco that’s gonna be incredible (think about how delicious their chicken & waffle taco is for an example of how the magic of sweet, savory and spicy will play out), as well as some other tasty treats. Things are getting going an hour earlier than Goodness 2013, at 2pm, and we’re rocking til 10 at night. Turn it up!!! No Cover / 21+.

Friday, 1/31 -> The Solution w/DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez retires our current logo with complimentary ‘bring your own shirt’ live screenprinting by Filthe! Bring a blank tee & we’ll transform it into a fresh Solution one!!!

FRIDAY, 1/31 -> To commemorate the logo we’ve been using for the last few years, we’re having Gabe “Filthe” Parra come in to do complimentary ‘bring your own shirt’ screenprinting as we bid it a fond farewell!  What does that mean?  It means you can bring in a blank shirt to the party and we’ll turn it into a fresh, Solution logo tee on the spot, for free!!!  The live screenprinting was a huge hit last time around (at 2013’s final Goodness), check the video of Filthe at Goodness HERE.
