The CRL CRRLL “Cheers” Video! Directed, filmed & edited by Black Sock Productions!!! It’s the first single from The Solution Tape #2 & first release on The Solution Records!!!!!!!!!

2014’s been an UNBELIEVABLE year for The Solution and we’re thrilled to be closing it out in grand fashion, teaming up with longtime friend of the party and one of our favorite artists in Denver, CRL CRRLL, to release “Cheers” aka the first official single from The Solution Tape #2 (finally!!!) and first release on The Solution Records (!!!!!!!). CRL’s been coming to the party for almost all of the 7+ years we’ve been rocking and makes great music with a unique sound, so when it came time to finally get everything together for our upcoming mixtape, The Solution Tape #2, it only made sense to reach out to him for an exclusive song to feature on the project.

Over the Summer, DJ Low Key met up with CRL CRRLL for a fateful studio visit that led to “Cheers” getting picked out of a batch of incredible music for the mixtape and next thing you know everyone in Denver was loving this song that only DJ Low Key & DJ Lazy Eyez were spinning, whether they heard it at The Solution on a Friday night, saw CRL perform it live, caught it when we DJed a brunch gig or whatever. At that point, we began to realize that “Cheers” was something extra special and decided it deserved as much of a push as we could give it. That turned into us teaming up with Black Sock Productions and Jonathan Martin to shoot a video at Goodness w/DJ Low Key & friends and The Solution, which turned into us deciding that “Cheers” was so good that it needed to get full-on single push, a physical pressing (coming in early 2015!) and so on. It’s funny how something can organically grow so fast, but it’s great to witness and be a part of. And with that said, for your listening pleasure, we’re super proud to present to you, a new celebratory anthem, right on time for New Year’s Eve and all your best moments of 2015; CRL CRRLL “Cheers”, the first single from The Solution Tape #2 (coming 2/2015) & first release on The Solution Records!!!!!!!

FRIDAY, 10/10 -> We’re super excited to welcome a few friends down for an extra special Friday night of The Solution. First off, we’ll be teaming up with Black Sock Productions to shoot some footage for CRL CRRLL’s upcoming video for the INCREDIBLE song “Cheers”, which you’ve probably heard us play by now as it happens to be one of our favorite songs out and the first single from the upcoming Solution Tape #2.

On top of that, we’ll also be welcoming Solution co-founder and party rocker extraordinaire DJ Sounds Supreme back to join party residents DJ Low Key & Lazy Eyez on the turntables. It’s always a blast when Sounds comes back for a guest spot and 10/10 should be no different. Last but definitely not least, we’re excited to announce that Goodness favorite ZenOne is coming on board as a new party sponsor. Do you guys know my homie DJ Low Key?  He just happens to be one of the top DJs in the lovely city of Denver, Colorado and one of the central figures in keeping a budding hip-hop scene alive in his area.  You can Google him to see how many different mixtapes, events and projects he’s been involved with.  The guy hustles his ass off.   However, his pride and joy is a wildly popular party called The Solution — an event that blends a perfect mix of quality hip-hop and soul for a super appreciative crowd.  Not all of us live in Denver though.

Fear not…Low Key and his homie Sounds Supreme have thrown together this mixtape (a REAL mixtape…with actual blending) that celebrates said party and captures the vibe in a whopping 1 hour and 22 minutes.  The best part of this is that it is CHOCK FULL of exclusive joints that you will only find on this mixtape. Friday, 2/26 -> DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1 Release Party + The Solution’s last night at the Funky Buddha…

FRIDAY, 2/26 ->  We’re finally dropping the Solution Tape #1, hosted by our good friends U-N-I & Ro Blvd, just in time to celebrate our final night at the Funky Buddha.  We’ve held down the Funky Buddha’s rooftop for the last 2+ years and while our time there has been awesome, it’s time for us to move on to a bigger and better spot, where we can take the Solution to the next level.  With that said, we’re looking forward to our new home, a few blocks away at Bar Standard (1037 Broadway). Bar Standard has a stage, great sound system, impressive lighting, a recently renovated interior, two AMAZING rooftop decks for summer and all sorts of other useful features that we plan to make the most of (starting with our 4th annual J Dilla tribute on 3/5).

Kooley High, Median & Halo “What’s The Deal” from DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1…

Here’s another exclusive track from DJ Low Key & Sounds Supreme – The Solution Tape #1, this one courtesy of 9th Wonder proteges Kooley High, Solution guest/DJ Low Key collaborator Median* and recently retired NC rapper Halo. “What’s The Deal” was originally recorded 2 years ago for a now shelved DJ Low Key mixtape collaboration with Spitkicker (the tape was for their web site and they have no site since getting hacked in late 2008), but it only made sense to feature it on the Solution Tape #1 since the song is full on Colorado references including shouts to the Solution, Denver and our good but since closed friends the 400 and Bar Luxe.  Since then, Kooley High has been racking up props from all angles (including an upcoming tour with Solution favorites Tanya Morgan, check the dates at KooleyHigh.com) and Median is in the midst of recording a ridiculous follow up to his acclaimed debut Relief, definitely catch up on them if you’re not familiar.  The first Solution mixtape is set to drop on 2/26 as we celebrate our last night at the Funky Buddha before moving to our new home at Bar Standard (1037 Broadway) and there will be physical copies, don’t miss it.
